Holiday Crafting in Full Swing

So Thanksgiving is behind us and I have my craft table back and I'm in full holiday crafting mode! Most of my Chistmas cards are done so I'm working on little treat boxes for my classes. I'm a fitness instructor and I usually give a handmade card with a candy cane but this year I thought I'd change it up and make the treat box with a little chocolate treat inside. My thought is no one really cared that I made all those cards anyway so if they throw the little box away I won't be sad!!!!! So here is the first set of treats using a paper pad I got at Michaels on BF for $2 and candy bars I found on sale for $1.33 for 12! So I calculated the cost about $.25 each to make. I'm making 50 so really inexpensive!!!

I used my envelope punch board but any gift card holder template would work. Paper was cut to 5x5 inches and scored and cut at 2 in on one side and 3 in on the other. I folded and glued th envelope together with the top open and embellished. I kept them embellishments simple because I have so many to do but you can go as wild as you like. One last note, double sided paper works well so the open envelope is decorated already. My motto is always to use what you have so I have made these with single sided paper.

My next project for my smaller classes is matching cards and treat boxes. ill be posting this project I he next few days!!!!

Thanksgivings in the Dining Room

I love Thanksgiving!!! It signals the start of the holiday season! My entire family comes to my house to feast around the dining room table. Well about that, it's my craft table!!!!!! It's covered with trimmer, paper, tools, paper, stamps, and did I say paper!!!! Every single project has a pile at some corner of my extra long dining room table!!!!! So I have to put it all away and set the table!!!! I dread this part because I'll have to pull it all out again and finish up my holiday projects before Christmas dinner!!!!!!

Since Thanksgiving is important I'll have to do it but not before I share my last finished project with you!!!! Today was my last crop of the year with friends from the church so I finished their gifts early enough to take with me and deliver today!!! Here they are!

They are altered notepads and calendars for 2019 with matching pens!!!!! Easy items every person can use and fits in your purse or bag. All the items I picked up at the dollar store and covered with scrapbook paper from a paper pad I picked up from Michaels. I love those pads because all the papers match and you don't have to guess what patterns go together! So here they are wrapped and ready to give!!!! These are the kind of gifts I love and can afford to give to large groups without going broke!!! I love giving handmade gifts. Let the season of giving begin!

Post It Notepad Cover

Over the years I have collected various templates that cover a post it pad! I didn't really love any of them! I wanted the cover to close! All the templates I found didn't close and the measurements were always too big!!! So I did my own math and here is my notepad holder!!!!!!

Items needed:
Pretty Cardstock weight paper
Score board or scoring tool
3in X 5 in Sticky note pad
Embellishments
Cut paper (double sided is great but not necessary) 7 .5 inches by 5 inches
Use scoring board or tool and score the 7.5 inch side at 3 1/8 in, 3  3/4 in, 6 5/8 in, and 7 1/8 in

Fold all score lines.

Insert notepad inside and glue down so glue side of notepad is on closed side of folded card stock.
The side that opens folds over to a flap!

That's it. You may attach Velcro to make a closure or make a band closure. I simply tie close and embellish how you choose!!!!

Easy peasy cover!!!

Side note:
I only have a 6 in score board so scoring all of  the way to 6 5/8 and 7 1/8 doesn't work so I flip my paper to the other side of the 7 1/2 side and score that end at 5/ 8 in and 1 inch! Problem solved!

Hope these directions are clear enough. Leave me a comment or a photo of how you embellished!

Being Grateful

As Thanksgiving approaches I begin to think of how grateful I am for all that I've been blessed with. Not the physical stuff but the spiritual manifestations like love, health, and life itself!!! So I've made a few thank you cards lately since I've been in a thankful mood! Here is one of my favorites!

The card above I made with various new dies I hauled from Tuesday Morning (frames) and Ali Express (sentiment). The paper is an old Bo Bunny collection called Alissa!!!!! Square shaped cards call for custom envelopes so I made that with the We R Memory Keepers Envelope Punch Board which also came from Tuesday Morning!!!! Love how complex it looks when it's really just three die cuts and two pieces of paper (they are double sided papers)!

So thankful for this season coming up and happy to be creating for the holidays!!!!
